The round-table “25 years of Belarus' participation in the European Cultural Convention” will take place April, 19
The round-table “25 years of Belarus' participation in the European Cultural Convention” with the participation of the Director General for Democracy of the Council of Europe Ms Snezana Samardzic-Markovic will take place April, 19 at 11.00 in the branch of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus – the Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood.
A wide range of issues is assumed to be discussed within the framework of the round table: special aspects of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Europe in the field of culture, development of public diplomacy, application of the educational component of the European Cultural Convention under the conditions of the Belarusian university, establishment of the institute of cultural diplomacy in the Republic of Belarus, experience and specifics of the European heritage days realization in Belarus, implementation of the European Cultural Convention provisions in the framework of public diplomacy etc.
The representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the Belarusian Fund of Culture, the Foundation «Cultural Heritage and Modernity» etc. will take part in the round table.
Organizers of the event: the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.
The European Cultural Convention was adopted in 1954 in Paris aiming to develop mutual understanding among the peoples of Europe and reciprocal appreciation of their cultural diversity, to safeguard European culture, to promote national contributions to Europe's common cultural heritage respecting common fundamental values.
