The Council of Europe law competition “Erga Omnes”-2017
The Council of Europe law competition “Erga Omnes”, organized by the International Law and Arbitration Association (BILA) and the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk was held from 26 till 30 June 2017.
The competition gathered 24 students of various specialties from Belarusian universities. On each of the competition days the participants had to carry out different tasks on the subject of the Council of Europe law both individually and in teams.
According to the results of the competition the first place was taken by Aleksandra Sandul (Belarusian State University, Minsk) and Andrey Nagibin (International University “MITSO”, Minsk). The second place was shared by Vasilina Akulizkaya (Vitebsk branch of the International University “MITSO”, Vitebsk) and Yuriy Gordeichyk (Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, Gorki). The third place was awarded to Vladislav Meschanchuk (Brest State A.S. Pushkin University, Brest) and Ekaterina Ladnova (Minsk State Linguistic University, Minsk).
The main prize for the students, who took first and second places, is a visit to the World Forum for Democracy, which will be held in Strasbourg (France) from 8 till 10 November 2017.
All participants received certificates of participation, and six winners were also presented with books on the law of the European Convention on Human Rights.
