The workshop on the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings in Minsk

The workshop on the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and Monitoring Mechanisms will be held in Minsk on 24 April 2014.

The workshop will consist of a number of presentations and discussions on the topical issues. In particular, Mr David Dolidze, Administrator in the Secretariat of the Anti-Trafficking Convention, will present the key provisions of the Convention and the obligations of the Parties arising from it. In turn, Ms Kateryna Levchenko, member of GRETA, will do a presentation of the Monitoring Mechanisms of the Convention. It is also expected that Ms Marieke van Doorninck, Public Affair Advisor from La Strada International, will speak about co-operation and partnerships between public bodies and NGOs that contribute to achieving the purposes of the Convention.

The activities will be implemented in the framework of the international technical assistance project "Capacity building of the Republic of Belarus in the area of combating trafficking in human beings" with support from the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.
