The 2021 René Cassin European Human Rights Competition

Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk jointly with the faculty of international relations and the faculty of law (BSU) announces the selection of students for the 2021 René Cassin European Human Rights Competition.

 Students of 2-4 courses of the faculty of law and the faculty of international relations BSU from specialties "international law", "international relations", "political science", "legal science" who speak French at a level which is sufficient for successful performance at the competition are invited to participate in the selection.

Participation in the selection can be confirmed until October 30, 2020 by e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. A confirmation letter should contain the following information: last name, first name, patronymic; year of birth; place of study; course, specialty; mobile phone number, level of the French language proficiency. All students who submit their data will receive confirmation of receipt, as well as information about the date and time of a selection interview.

In case a team passes to the final the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk will cover all expenses incurred by the team during their stay in Strasbourg for the competition.

For information: René Cassin European Human Rights Competition is one of the largest pan-European competitions in public international law. It is an imitation of a legal trial in French under the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Participation in this competition allows to develop professional skills of students, improve their knowledge of the French language, and increases the involvement of students in research activities.

Online event on results of the PGG II

The MEDICRIME Convention ratification

On 28 September 2020 the Republic of Belarus has deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (hereafter – MEDICRIME Convention). The MEDICRIME Convention will enter into force for Belarus on 1st January 2021.
