Renewal of the European Diploma for Protected Areas awarded to the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve

On September 23, 2020, at the 1384th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, the final Resolution was adopted on the renewal of the European Diploma for Protected Areas awarded to the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve. The diploma was renewed for the next 10 years – until September 11, 2030.

The Resolution sets forth two conditions to the renewal and five recommendations.

The European diploma of the highest category "A" confirms that the territory of Berezensky State Reserve has an exceptional value in terms of nature conservation and is characterized by a high level of management.

The MEDICRIME Convention ratification

On 28 September 2020 the Republic of Belarus has deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (hereafter – MEDICRIME Convention). The MEDICRIME Convention will enter into force for Belarus on 1st January 2021.
