The student competition “Erga Omnes” on the Council of Europe law

International Law & Arbitration Association (BILA Association) together with the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk announce registration for the student competition “Erga Omnes” on the Council of Europe law.

The competition consists of two stages. The first stage involves the registration to the competition and the preparation of the essay on the defined topic. Authors of 20 best essays are invited to participate in the next stage of the competition, within a framework of which they will have to solve several tasks, which will be assessed by experts.

Students of Belarusian universities from any specialty aged eighteen and above, who have never participated in this competition before, are invited to take part.

The following steps should be completed to participate in the competition: to register for the competition by 31 July 2020, to send an essay on the topic “Human rights law in the context of pandemic” by e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 3 August 2020.

On the results of the selection authors of 20 best essays will be invited to participate in the second stage of the competition, which will be held in August 17-21, 2020 in the recreation area “Dudinka” (Borisov district, Minsk region).

Participation is free of charge.

Students, who will take winning places, will get valuable prizes.

The MEDICRIME Convention ratification

On 28 September 2020 the Republic of Belarus has deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (hereafter – MEDICRIME Convention). The MEDICRIME Convention will enter into force for Belarus on 1st January 2021.
