Study visit to the Council of Europe of the students of the Belarusian State University

37 students of different faculties of the Belarusian State University visited the Council of Europe (Strasbourg, France) on January 28, 2020.

During the visit students got acquainted with the activities of the Council of Europe and its main areas of work, as well as with the functioning of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and they had the opportunity to attend events within the framework of the PACE.

At the end of the visit to the Council of Europe, the delegation had the meeting with the political advisor of the Directorate of Political Affairs Ms Albina Ovcearenco. Students asked all the questions about the activities of this international organization and its cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, and received detailed answers.

The visit to the Council of Europe was possible with the support of the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.

Online event on results of the PGG II

The midterm results of the second phase of the European Union and Council of Europe Partnership for Good Governance (PGG II) launched in 2019 and the impact of the programme on the lives of people in the Eastern Partnership region was the key focus of the online event which took place on October 5-7, 2020. The event had the title “Improving the lives of citizens through better Governance”.

The MEDICRIME Convention ratification

On 28 September 2020 the Republic of Belarus has deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (hereafter – MEDICRIME Convention). The MEDICRIME Convention will enter into force for Belarus on 1st January 2021.
