International Youth Forum «M.I.R.»

October 28, 2019 the IV International Youth Forum «M.I.R .: Youth. Integration. Development» was opened at BSU, organized by the BSU Student Assembly and the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.

The participants of the three-day event this year are united by the theme «Generation Z University: The Evolution of Higher Education».

The forum is attended by more than 70 leaders of student organizations from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Latvia, Moldova, Serbia, Slovenia, Austria, Turkmenistan, Poland and Albania.

At the opening of the Forum, Mikhail Cherepennikov, Vice-Rector for Economics and Material-Technical Development of BSU, Victoria Dedok, Head of the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk, and Alexey Bogomazov, Deputy Head of the Department of Educational Work with Youth of BSU, made a welcoming speech.

On the first day of the forum, the program of the event included a presentation and two workshops on youth participation in students self-organised communities, and Internet governance and youth participation prepared by Ksenia Fedorova, the member of the Council of Europe pool of trainers.

During the workshops, the forum participants were provided with information about the Council of Europe, about its structural units dealing with youth policy and youth affairs. The students took an active part in the tasks, being divided into groups. At the end of the workshops, the Chairman of the BSU Student Assembly Artur Kondratenko thanked Ksenia Fedorova for the interesting work and presented her souvenirs in memory of participation in the IV International Youth Forum M.I.R.

Webinar on Roma rights and equality

On 9 July, a webinar will be organised on “Roma rights and equality” between  3-5 pm CET, in the framework of the regional project “Strengthening access to justice through non-judicial redress mechanisms for victims of discrimination, hate crime and hate speech in Eastern Partnership countries”.
