Meeting with partners of the project “CyberEast”

On September 24, 2019 the meeting with partners of the project “CyberEast” was held in the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.

The meeting was attended by the representative of Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (Bucharest, Romania), the Council of Europe experts, Head of the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk, representatives of law enforcement agencies and the academic environment of the Republic of Belarus.

The meeting was organized within the assessment visit on institutional setup, capacities, competencies and training needs of cybercrime units, interagency cooperation gaps and opportunities.

The CyberEast project, which commenced in 2019, builds upon the success of previous joint EU and the Council of Europe Cybercrime@EaP projects implemented since 2011.  The CyberEast project will focus on further improvement of legal framework and strengthening international and public/private cooperation, with added areas of cybercrime policies and strategies, continuous training of law enforcement, prosecution and judiciary on matters of cybercrime and electronic evidence, and increased interagency cooperation between criminal justice and cybersecurity experts.

Webinar on Roma rights and equality

On 9 July, a webinar will be organised on “Roma rights and equality” between  3-5 pm CET, in the framework of the regional project “Strengthening access to justice through non-judicial redress mechanisms for victims of discrimination, hate crime and hate speech in Eastern Partnership countries”.
