About the Info-point

The Council of Europe Information Point was opened in Minsk on June 8th, 2009 as a department of the Belarusian State University. The Info-Point was designed to promote cooperation between Belarus and the Council of Europe, as well as to raise awareness among State institutions, public organizations, mass media, universities and citizens of the Republic of Belarus of the fundamental values, legal instruments, achievements, policies and activities of the Council of Europe.

The Mission of the Info-Point is:

  • to provide assistance to the State institutions, public organizations, mass media, universities and citizens of the Republic of Belarus in obtaining the information on the fundamental values, legal instruments, achievements, policies and activities of the Council of Europe, including the work of its statutory bodies (the Committee of Ministers, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities);
  • to assist in the implementation of the information strategy of the Council of Europe for the professional community who are interested in the activities of the Council of Europe, especially for the media;
  • to assist to the Council of Europe in the organization of theme workshops and other activities, including those in the framework of participation of the Republic of Belarus in the conventions of the Council of Europe;
  • to give lectures on the Council of Europe and its fundamental values, legal instruments, achievements, policies and activities;
  • to provide assistance to the Republic of Belarus in its participation in the Council of Europe information campaigns.
